The CD is going along quite nicely then there's this bit of weirdness at the end. With SHADO 2 I actually stopped the CD about half the way through the last track because I just couldn't take it anymore :-) and I usually don't do that. I think you're right about "if it was on a disc with all or mostly experimental stuff it wouldn't be so bad." If they started the disc off with it instead of closing with it, it wouldn't have been so bad. I guess that's what programmable CD players are for. Do they do this just to freak us out or throw us off guard or is it some sort of artistic statement? I'll agree with you on that, Rowland...I've always thought that last track on Ozoona was an utter throw-away, and totally out of place with the rest of the album. Same with the last SHADO 2 track as well...which is a bit of a suprise, considering the tracks like that one on SHADO 1 were mixed in between other tracks... - -s2 On Tue, 1 Jun 1999, Rowland Atkinson wrote: > Listening to the new SHADO disc Im struck by a pattern - both this, Time > squared and Ozoona all have four tracks of which the fourth is pretty poor > in my opinion, espec. I've been so programmed by the "Pete Namlook &" directive that I'd almost forgotten how enjoyable the sublabel stuff can be... This record is quite the (chilly) breath of fresh air... cheers, Jeffrey KRTU P.S. (IMHO) I find the Sad World series to be one of the most successful runs of the lot. Quite a few ethno-ambient producers have taken a number of cues from these records. (Take a listen to any of the Rhys Fulber/Bill Leeb ambient dub stuff {i.e. Delirium, Synesthasia} to hear what I mean) "End of line." -MCP ________________________________________________________ "Is your life too taxing?
