Thanks ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 29 Jan 2001 12:58:29 -0500 (EST) From: Stewart Fritz Subject: Re: (fax) Info/views requested Was just listening to that this morning... Birmingham Frequencies sounds like less HIA and more Biosphere than the previous collaboration on Beyond. It's closer to Substrata or the follow-up Cirque than any other Biosphere release, except maybe for parts of the "Insomnia" soundtrack. Lots of trademark echoing Biosphere melodies, some environmental noises(kids playing with ducks, water dripping, cars passing etc.) and nice beats. Doesn't really interest me as much as the previous album, or other Biosphere or HIA solo stuff, but it's still worth picking up, especially if you're a fan of either. - --stewart On Mon, 29 Jan 2001, Paul Milligan wrote: > Can anyone comment on the HIA/Biosphere release > Birmingham Frequencies, particularly helpful if with any > comparisons to their Fax stuff, Patashnik & Substrata, > which are the titles I'm familiar with. > Thanks > --- > + To post: ; to mail a person: > + To unsubscribe: "unsubscribe" to > + Online info at: www.faxlabel.com www.hyperreal.org/fax www.2350.org > - -- stewart fritz...... fax +49-69/450464 reviews... http://www.2350.org/ welcome to the electronic music center ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 30 Jan 2001 08:19:39 +1100 From: "andre@faxlabel.com" Subject: Re: (fax) new world label release. on 30/01/2001 7:14 AM, Chrisknow1@aol.com at Chrisknow1@aol.com wrote: > It SHOULD be Outland ( so long overdue it's ridiculous), but I betcha it > won't be! However, methinks it might be a mistake to not include the video capture imagery of the freaky old 2350 Broadway Hotel in some fashion (the CUE cover) that was featured on the 1st AW edition of "2350 Broadway 1" from 1996. But, anything is better than the original "2350 B'Way 1" artwork, which looks like out-of-control air pollution. - -- C:\Gary H@> http://www.gary-hendershot.com/ ghenders@gary-hendershot.com ghendershot@gmx.de (junk mail) Houston, TX USA Sent through GMX FreeMail - http://www.gmx.net ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 29 Jan 2001 21:01:39 -0500 From: David Beardsley Subject: Re: (fax) Re: Shades (series) + 2350 Broadway Reissue ghendershot@gmx.de wrote: > > > ive just finished the artwork for Silence 1 & Silence 2 reissued on > > AmbientWorld + Dreamfish.. next week im doing the Art for a Dreamfish 2 > > reissue + a 2350 Broadway Reissue > ======================================================================== > > I've seen some of the recent artwork for the Ambient World re-reissues, and > it certainly looks good. > > However, methinks it might be a mistake to not include the video capture > imagery of the freaky old 2350 Broadway Hotel in some fashion (the CUE cover) > that was featured on the 1st AW edition of "2350 Broadway 1" from 1996. I hate to break it to you, but 2350 Broadway looks nothing like the art work on the 1st AW edition. There's some shots on the Inoue site of the real building. I bought myself a camera for xmas but haven't had a chance to get up there to shoot some photos. This isn't even the best time of year to shoot photos, I might have to hang out all day to get a good shoot. (winter, sun low on horison all day.) I even know someone who lives in the building. - -- * D a v i d B e a r d s l e y * 49/32 R a d i o "all microtonal, all the time" * http://www.virtulink.com/immp/lookhere.htm * http://mp3.com/davidbeardsley ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 30 Jan 2001 20:06:13 +1100 From: "andre@faxlabel.com" Subject: (fax) +++ SELEKTOR +++ > > another New Composers collaboration? > yes,new composers versus namlook.. its not planetarium 3 but a new title all together... im not too fond of either planetariums myself but ive got some MP3 snippets from the new release and im quite impressed.. i think it will be in the same format of the last two in that its many short tracks rather than few long ones. and the dreamfish 2 artwork is in a new format for AW releases.. as seen on Silence 1 + 2 + dreamfish 1 and i think that dreamfish 2 will be re released within february ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 30 Jan 2001 12:56:57 +0000 From: "Paul Milligan" Subject: (fax) fao Wesley Kerr Apologies for using the list this way but, I've misplaced his email address.
