Hey, that's the treatment I reserve for my copy of Ambient Otaku by that Fatso Enoue guy ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 23 Jun 2001 22:15:53 +0100 From: "David Calvert" Subject: (fax) Call me an old hippy but ... Ok, time to light the blue touch paper and stand back ... I have just put on Adlernebel and as soon as America's "Ventura Highway" sample kicked in I thought, what the heck, let's listen to the original long-playing, gramaphone record type thing. Ok, there are a couple of really duff tracks on the "Homecoming" LP but "Ventura Highway", the track from which the Namlook/DJ Dag's "Forgotten Trail" was sampled, stands the test of time (IMHO). Have scanned both sleeves but can see no hints as to a possible reason for chosing this as a sample (other than the fact it's pretty good). I did think the Fax CD inner looked a little like the inner of the Homecoming sleeve but ... hey, wasn't that a flying saucer that just passed by my window? I'm sure this question has come up before but what other obscure samples are there out there? And finally, while I'm on (and down from my hippy trip) ... I have an original Shades of Orion (PW09) to trade for one or more of the Fax/RI items on my wants page (see url below). Please contact me privately if you have a trade offer but please feel free to ridicule me openly about my dubious non-Fax musical taste! e-mail: dakota.boo@pop3.hiway.co.uk web page: http://home.hiway.co.uk/boo ------------------------------ End of faxlist-digest V2001 #95 ******************************* --- + To post: ; to mail a person: + To unsubscribe: "unsubscribe" to + Online info at: www.faxlabel.com www.hyperreal.org/fax www.2350.org
