I don't know if Aphex has sold out or not but I actually haven't listened to any of his later stuff. The last album I have is 'I care because you do' which does have some really good tracks although he decided to go down the questionable path of putting up scary album covers with that one...nevermind the hideous cover on 'Windowlicker' (What was he THINKING!)... Even better have the Nokia ringer belt out Der Spyra's Virtual Vices tunes. ;) ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 20 Jan 2002 02:58:35 -0800 (PST) From: ambient Subject: (fax) Cymantically Scaned - PS 08/50 i certainly like this release... it gave me the feeling of being abducted and being scanned..lying on my back as some large mechanic device slowly moved the whole of my body for an hour.. i wouldn`t say it is scary...i accepted the music as drone and not dark...although, the border between the two can be bi-polar...almost like a mild form of schizophrenia ...yet, this release isn`t that at all...it is "mildly tense" and a pleasant abduction..and the bassbeat offers a mild intrusion into one`s psyche close your eyes, imagine your doctor with their scalpel in hand....you know it won`t hurt after the body numbing novacaine... that`s what i mean by "mildly tense" your supposed to be at rest, but your muscles are slightly flexed as there are many other recordings to describe the feeling of the novacaine wearing off before the operation is finished. This one doesn`t go there....It is just the scan, not the procedure enjoy ,scoUt - --- Paul Milligan wrote: > > Noah wrote: > > > On the Tetsu tip, i too would have to agree with Paul > > ... However, as a body of solo works Otaku + > > Cloud + S&L eclipse Outer Dark. My two cents: I think Cymatic Scan is pretty good but I rate Outer Dark higher. I think Outer Dark is right up there with some of the best Fax releases. It's an underrated and very overlooked album. People who haven't listened to it in a while might want to pull it out and give it another spin. It's excellent. This discussion made me pull it out. Enjoying it right now. And no funky bass lines. :) ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 20 Jan 2002 04:10:28 -0800 From: "sanvara" Subject: (fax) Crazy prices for Fax CD's There's a bidding war going on for Dark Side of the Moog 1 - (Ambient World reissue) with a high bid of $53.00 so far. Whereas the original edition has a $45.00 minimum bid on another auction and no bids yet. Go figure. LOL. Are the AW reissues OOP? What about Passion on Y&T? That's going for $45 right now. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 21 Jan 2002 01:11:36 +0100 (MET) From: Leszek Zabinski Subject: (fax) David Reeves' discography Can anybody tell me where I can find a detailed D.Reeves' discography?
