Wow. I must say, this is a very nice ambient release. There are some very nice melodies and ambient washes present, along with a nice and steady beat (similar but much more subtle to the type experienced in Aphex Twin's Selected Ambient Works vol 1). I found it will surfing today. Only 32k stream but it let's you listen to the whole album. I wish more labels would do stuff like this. I'd bet they'd sell more CD's this way. http://www.turborecordings.com/mar_cd_015.html What I don't get is why the call it his "debut" album? ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 17 Feb 2002 12:54:40 -0800 (PST) From: dj monolith Subject: RE: (fax) new goodies FS/FT (some sexy) I would strongly suggest those who are unfamiliar with Instinct Ambient and what Taylor did during that time get ahold of some of that catalog. As far as I am concerned, it is some of the best stuff ever to come out in the genre. I think the first EM album that I heard and thought was real cool was The Orbs Adventures....pretty different at that time, as I was into mostly rock and metal then. First introduction to Fax was via the HIA, "SHADO", as I was (am) a big HIA fan. Followed shortly by Dreamfish, as was also a fan of the Mixmaster. But it's taken a while to get around to hearing other Fax, as I thought they seemed mostly like a bunch of freaks that I'd never heard of....who the hell was Bill Laswell? ;) _________________________________________________________________ Send and receive Hotmail on your mobile device: http://mobile.msn.com ------------------------------ End of faxlist-digest V2002 #35 ******************************* --- + To post: ; to mail a person: + To unsubscribe: "unsubscribe" to + Online info at: www.faxlabel.com www.hyperreal.org/fax www.2350.org
