Regarding the '4Voice' one, I rather liked 'Join Us On Our Way To The Final Frontier' (contender for the longest techno track title...) but also is my least liked Fax CD... For the simple reason that it just didn't quite hit the mark in terms of great techno for the time. I think it dated too quickly... As for the thirds, DSOTM 3 was quite interesting for me, especially the dark intro, and the very analogue synth strings used near the start and at the end.... I have the same interest in From Within 3, with its nice guitar melodies and very cool techno rhythms - Does anybody have any news on a From Within 4. I had heard that a couple of sessions had taken place with Namlook and Hawtin. You touched on something real here. It's maybe not so much in the volume - but maybe the force behind it? After a night of clubbing/djing, I would often have people back at my house where I had a pair of dual JBL SR 18" cabs powered by about 2 kilowatts. Even at low volumes, it would always 'energize' the air with low & sub sonic soundwaves that would always give us goosebumps. - - Anthony ps. Wow, someone who totally agrees with me. People on this list seem to be extraordinarily tolerant of bad reviews of their favorites, so I don't have many qualms about saying this stuff. Most albums by or with Namlook I generally dislike. There are a few glaring exceptions (like From Within, and most everything he's done with David Moufang), but more often than not, it's the other person who makes the album enjoyable. Actually, I think Sad World 3 is really good...I listened to that just a couple weeks ago. But stuff like Silence, 2350 Broadway, Shades of Orion, all those are really aimless, boring and low-effort IMHO (not to mention dated). I read a lot of stuff about how some Fax albums are good for falling asleep too. Well, gee, so is the CPU fan on my computer, and I certainly don't pretend that's art. I probably should say that there are a lot of Fax records I *DO* enjoy. The sublabel is definitely my favorite. Spyra, Solitaire, Sad World, MS-Series, David Reeves...that's cool stuff to me.
