I thought Psycho 1 was very good and very different in style from 5. I am not sure how the music on 5 fits into PyschoNav series. I, too, was disappointed with 5 even taken out of the context of the series. It just reminded me that I've always thought Namlook to be rather poor with beats different from the 4/4 kick and the sampled eastern percussion (imo). Examples?? Loads!! Namlook - Atom Namlook X Namlook XIV Namlook XV Time 2 etc. etc. The only cd which has (in some bits) sort of 'experimental' beats and that I really appreciate is TDSotM 1. As for the other releases which he is in charge of the beats too ... I must say that I prefer his ambient side. - -- Riccardo np: NoW - Playtime (John McEntire mix) [Warp 10+3] incorporates a sample from a lighthearted italian 70s picture ... mmhhhhh! .. . . . . . . . . . . .. musictrade http://digilander.iol.it/radioactivetoy .. . . . . . . . . . . .. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 12 Apr 2002 10:02:52 +1000 From: "andre@sansserif.com.au" Subject: (fax) Namlook beats > This is not to criticise your opinion at all! > It just reminded me that I've always thought Namlook to be rather poor with > beats different from the 4/4 kick and the sampled eastern percussion (imo). > Examples??
