That would actually be an interesting thread. If you had to fit your favorites on one CD (let's say 70 minutes) - what would make the final cut? I would think edits would be appropriate as many songs are very long. dj monolith - --- sanvara wrote: > > I think Hellmuth has the point here. I also see nothing wrong in members enthusing about Sub Label releases when there are clearly many great, in-print, PS titles to enjoy. Surely you are not suggesting that just because music by artists such as Victor Sol, Pino & Wildjamin, Modula Green, Fanger & Siebert, etc, have shifted less copies than the latest Air, Silence or Moog release (and are therefore financially less successful) that they should now be frowned upon ... or are you? Finally, I happen to agree with Paul's point regarding some 'series' titles. There are more than one or two which have been marketed as the next release in a (thus far) successful series, only to exhibit a tenuous musical connection with their predecessor. I also think that Fires Of Ork 2 is a reasonable example of this and felt it was considerably inferior to the first 'installment'. Naturally, the above thoughts are my personal opinions and not meant to represent the views of other List members. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 4 Jan 2003 10:39:43 EST From: RLynn9@aol.com Subject: Re: (fax) Re: Fires Of Ork II In a message dated 1/3/03 5:46:12 PM Central Standard Time, djmonolith@yahoo.com writes: << If I made an all-time favorite FAX disk and I had to fit it all on ONE CD, In Heaven would make the final cut. Some of the songs are just excerpts, while others are near complete. This mix would fit in with the Ambient Compilation series (ie. no beats). If anyone wants a copy let me know. 1. ancient history (SYN) 2. recent organic discoveries pt.1 (ELEKTRO II) 3. a saucerful of ambience (DOSTM II) 4. atmosphere processor (ESCAPE) 5. the mission (SEQUENTIAL) 6. identification (DELTRAXX) 7. mirage (SILENCE III) 8. urban isolationism (KOOLER) 9. calm box (JET CHAMBER II) 10. lost city (SILENCE III) Graham > Hi Monolith, > > > That would actually be an interesting thread.
