RL ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 17 Jan 2003 01:12:20 +0100 (MET) From: Leszek Zabinski Subject: Re: (fax) Darkest of all...??? This is tough one as I regard Fax operating rather on the light side of the spectrum. but let's try... David Reeves - Otras 2 Both parts count, but I prefer second installment over the first. Unmatched lowtone cinematic sci-fi soundtrack. Aerial Service Area - 150G Space Weight Again the second part creates more stable atmosphere while the first one has some ups & downs (light & dark). Dr.Atmo/Lieb - Music to Films Ok, some of you may find this out of place, but I find this one chillingly dark at times. Especially Movement I brings me right down. Namlook/Prochir - Possible Gardens A sole Namlook cd in this set. Namlook is nowhere near dark atmospheres, but whenever he teams up with Prochir something great comes out. This was my favourite Fax of 2000 and moreover in my top5 electronic albums of 2000. One of the better Fax outcomes of the last few years (if not the best!). Sometimes dronish, sometimes industrial, but always top-notch electronics. Terminal Beach breaks up its atmosphere a litlle with its uplifting bassline and Metheney-like guitars, but it's also my fave track so go figure! :) Other albums worth to check out for some dark chill are: Outland, Psychonavigation 3, Shellground, Live at Sel i/s/c and probably lots more that I don't recall at this moment. greets, Leszek. - ----------- Taboo - niezalezny magazyn kulturalny www.taboo.art.pl - ----------- ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 16 Jan 2003 17:09:15 -0800 From: "sanvara" Subject: Re: (fax) Darkest of all...??? Outland 1 is the darkest and most menacing moment on Fax. I think a Vir Unis joint on Fax would be divine, too. Seems like the perfect bridge between the rain-sticks (shut up, playa-haytas!) and the beats. A collaboration between Unis & Mr. Kuhlmann seems in order as well! Mostly because I am not much into Vir Unis overall. I think that seeing Namlook and some of the following as a collab would be wonderful to hear. Vir Unis on Fax or off Fax is still Vir Unis and my jury is out on a (hypothetical) collaboration. I've just noticed that Yellow House is a cdr, albeit disc label and artwork quality are of high order, but this is a great release and if it was on Fax I'm sure we'd all be excited. I won't bother describing it here because someone else does it better than I could. Anyone interested, go to... www.spiderbytes.com/ambientrance and check out their top 10 of 2002. Incidentally, I do not consider VU is essentially 'new age' despite one or two of the artists he has chosen to collaborate with and the above release is definitely ambient. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 17 Jan 2003 12:31:54 -0500 From: "jackthetab" Subject: Re: (fax) collaborations, again I think a few new collabs would open the sound of FAX up a little more. There seems to be such a variety of sound, from ambient to jazz to trance. Different artists can bring different sounds to the world of FAX, and it would be quite refreshing. kunst und wahnsinn, jackthetab #####\ _ /##### #( )# | _( )__ | #( )# ##### | /_woof/ | ##### #" "# | ___m/I_ /_____ | #" "# # O # |____#-x.\ /++m\ /.x-#____| # O # #m.m# | /" \ ///###\\\ / "\ | #m.m# #####/ ######/ \###### \##### /_______________________________________\ - ----- Original Message ----- From: "wolf kemker" To: Sent: Friday, January 17, 2003 4:42 AM Subject: (fax) collaborations, again > jtt: > [...]middle eastern [...] > > maybe namlook & andrew diey (aka foreign terrain aka black faction) > --> ambient middle eastern dub dark ambient... > > jack wouldn't call *this* new age ;-) > > anyway, same question like always remains, > would there be any chance namlook being interested in 'new' collabs? > > too bad the possible namlook & esa ruoho collaboration failed > due to lack of interest. > > ciao, > wolf. > > ----://----------------------------------------------------- > mailto:wolf@kompaktkiste.de > http://www.kompaktkiste.de > http://www.kompaktkiste.de/shop > ----://----------------------------------------------------- > > > > > > --- > + To post: ; to mail a person: > + To unsubscribe: "unsubscribe" to > + Online info at: www.hyperreal.org/fax www.2350.org > > ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 17 Jan 2003 22:19:04 -0000 From: "David Calvert" Subject: (fax) FA: Namlook VII & Air (RSN) Namlook VII http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=1577&item=250192283 0 Air (Rising High) http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=1577&item=250192385 0 Full auction list http://cgi6.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?MfcISAPICommand=ViewListedItems&user id=dakota.boo@pop3.hiway.co.uk&include=0&since=1&sort=2&rows=25 e-mail: dakota.boo@pop3.hiway.co.uk web page: http://home.hiway.co.uk/boo ------------------------------ End of faxlist-digest V2003 #14 ******************************** --- + To post: ; to mail a person: + To unsubscribe: "unsubscribe" to + Online info at: www.faxlabel.com www.hyperreal.org/fax www.2350.org
