Lots of DVD players sold nowadays (including the PlayStation 2) can play MP3 CDs no problem. If you have one, check your manual. If you're shopping for one, ask about it. This may not help everyone, but it's another possibility. - -w. - -- http://www.warlap.net/ (now with music blog) ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 28 Feb 2003 01:39:43 -0000 From: "Lxacoustics" Subject: Re: (fax) a nod to the fans/mp3s >deference to the fans no comment............accept that i agree the sun shines out his arse or does on a few of his releases anyhow....i'm sure he is a great guy , we all love a moan, he overcharged his fans , thats his mistake and my opinion , doesnt make him a bad musician but have a heart . . . 60 euro a time or more a time...for the right to buy his music .It left a bad taste in my mouth and i'm not deluded am i???or imagining what it actually all spelled out am i? i would have shut up about this all weeks ago but got the feeling you were saying its all in our heads or he';s really a great guy as he has sold the mp3's....ps.Has anyone found the new fax ftp server with free one off mixes and un-released stuff yet ?dont hold your breath.........this world is made up of givers and takers............nice to do a bit of both.... Good golly, people, have you seen that Nazraeli is charging $1,000 for the right to buy Rolf Horne's first book? [ http://www.nazraeli.com/nazraeli/ltdeditn/98-1.html ] How insane is that? Isn't it my RIGHT to buy this book for, like, $2.00? ;-) It's funny, I don't recall ever seeing Namlook's name attached to any of the eBay sales, nor any of the out-of-print sales. AFAIK, it was EMC/CUE Records wasn't it? And, AFAIK, they get most of their OOP stock either from distributors that could never move them or if Namlook happens to find some around the house/storage. EMC is an independent distributor, not part of some vast Fax Multinational Cartel, LLC... Doesn't mean that Namlook is seeing an extra dime at all for these. Hell, even if Namlook was selling them for $30/pop to EMC doesn't mean he's making any extra money off of them. AFAIK, Namlook is still charging the distributors about 7-8 USD for the new releases. It's not his fault if you didn't buy them when they were fresh. Trust me, I'd love to find the Sequential CD for $20 someplace, but I had the chance to buy it when it first came out and didn't. I've seen every fax release new in a store at least once and I kick myself when I think about the few that I passed up, but that's my problem, not Namlook's... I expected a stricter ambient show throughtout the night. Yet, the idm/experimental performance of Gumuna was the closest. Jonah played a semi-live/dj set which included idm/experimental and many dancable tracks mixed in with his own sounds and adjustments. I would have just thought that Jonah was just a spectator, there to enjoy the show as he wandered around looking at things and watching the performance of the previous act. Yet, in a crowd of 100 or more Japanese, we were the only two foreigners. I was surprised not to see more, as Milk is quite famous here. It is a great place for a rave or techno show like this...there are many rooms, about 5 or 6. One room is even soundproofed and has speakers in it to control the volume so you can even wisper your friend a secret as everyone is screaming upstairs. Interesting. Notes of the night; All aritsts had an Apple. Jonah merchandise was FS: Astralwerks and Reflective, NO fax No mention of Fax along side other labels on this or yesterdays flyer at Bullets in NishiAzabu. ? The pictures of him came out well. Worst part of the night, the freezing ride home on my motorcycle at 4am in the morning. scoUt __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
