Also, I wouldn't look twice at a pricey original if there's a reissue out there at regular cost. For some it stops with the music, for others it's the concept of being a 'collector' ... each to their own ... and why not? Irony about some of the prices the rare stuff goes for imho is there's people paying over $100 for indifferent releases, no seriously !!!! Are we still allowed to talk about this sort of thing, I can't remember. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 24 Mar 2003 12:03:58 -0000 From: "Lxacoustics" Subject: Re: (fax) Datacide Flowerhead? what i liked about this reissue was that it had the same artwork or near enough , i find the original artwork on stuff often forms something for me of the overall musical experience?and find reissue artwork puts me off buying reissues unles its the original graphic - maybe that sounds a bit sad !the music is great on this one , a colourfull journey.Has anyone heard of am artist called flowehead ?doing chilled stuff?someone mentioned them to me a while back but i found nothing ? cheers, matt - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Paul Milligan" To: "Dan Rossi" Cc: Sent: Monday, March 24, 2003 11:47 AM Subject: Re: (fax) Datacide Flowerhead? > > > > oh well , original or not , its all the same really , i'm not hardcore into > > it all although i have paid a mint for a few rarities :), i lost my bid on > > electro hamronix the other day , has my limit to 50 and it sky rocketed to > > 80 or more , not much for u US guys but alot on the other side of the world > > I'm anglo saxon myself and like you, refyse to go 'through the nose' ... > tops for me **on anything** would be $50 USD. The Asphodel re-issue is certainly still available online, even at www.asphodel.com for $12. I'd value the original RI version at not more than $60. Indeed it was an original pressing, I made sure of that. Rather Interesting on the side and everything. There were a number of other RI titles there as well, Senor Coconut is the only one that comes to mind at the moment. However, the actual cases were in pretty poor condition, which I suppose isn't too much of a problem, I could always replace. Funny how I stumbled across it, I was intending to buy the Chain Reaction release by Vainqueur (and repurchase Monolake's Hong Kong, my mother snapped the CD :O!). Hmm. Many thanks again! Those metal boxes have a reputation for busting the discs, it wasn't that was it? You can avoid the risk by putting the disc in a floppy plastic sleeve and put that in the box, without actually clamping the disc onto the case. Or you can keep the disc and box separate, and eventually lose one or the other, that's another winner.
