Ricochet to be precise, back in 75, although my mate's bedroom was nowhere near as cool as your cousin's. It's arguable imo that the mid 70's releases by the Tangs (say Phaedra to Encore period) are more significant a body of work than any other, in terms of what can be traced back today... re the whole synth/ambient/etc scene. Think about who Froese & Co influenced and, in turn, who they then went on to influence themselves. I was only listening a few days ago to their Sorcerer 1977 soundtrack; wow what a fantastic album ... brooding, dark, so *much* atmosphere wrapped up in a dozen short tracks. A precursor to releases like Outland and Stalker; musically undiminished by the passage of time. Respect. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 22 Apr 2003 11:03:41 EDT From: RLynn9@aol.com Subject: (fax) Re: Nostalgia / Where it all started ... The first one is fun because of its unabashed synth/echo tweakery (I know, tweakery isn't really a word, sorry). The second one is even a little disturbing with it's tolling bells and all. On first listen the second one seemed more 'out there' & interesting than the first. But it's difficult to say which one is better. I'm really glad I went to the beginning stages on this series. Well worth the money and the wait for the (re?)re-issue. John W. __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? The New Yahoo! Search - Faster. Easier. Looks like this guy made the classic error of not putting FAX in the title of his (or her) auction. I think people routinely search for FAX in the music category, but not Namlook. Right now it's at $1.25. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2525525653 HS Carl __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? The New Yahoo! Search - Faster.
