Certainly, withoUt doUbt, the best release on FAX in years. (Since Silence V) it's NP, looping. i'll leave it looping and dream tonight deeply, as if i were in Sedona. ....The mix of track 3 to 4 and into track 4 is emotion. - --- ambient wrote: > Phonaut wrote: > > >--- ambient wrote: > > > a different Anthony Rother than on FAX > > --- Phonaut wrote: > > Perhaps she was singing the praises of his electro > > style, which is the type of thing Rother normally > > does? > > I'd highly recommend trying out some of his stuff on > > Kanzleramt it if you haven't already (Sex With > > Machines, for instance). Welcome Track 9. if you have listened to this release straight through to this point., you will surely be aurally rewarded. it took me at least three listens before i realized what was happening in this track.,. it blends so well. > ,scoUt hi, me again, scoUt __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Listen to one and then the other. DSOTM IX is basically a Namlook remix of the song 'The Theme: The Rhodes Elegy'. very interesting. How does the rest of it compare, say to the Live Klangart discs? I wonder if PK knew he was effectively 'remixing' not that it matters. Of course, he did an excellent job remixing three of the tracks which appeared on Are You Sequenced (disc two/remixes). ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 29 May 2003 10:05:45 -0600 From: "Graham Banting" Subject: Re: (fax) DSOTM IX vs Schulze Contemporary Works 2 disc 1 As a Namlook fan who just started listening to Schulze, I must say I was very impressed with my first skim through the CW2 CDs. I picked up a couple of other tracks which it appears were 'remixed' in DSOTM9 as well. I can't compare it to any other Schulze, but if you like DSOTM9 I would be fairly confident that you would like CW2 as well. What other Schulze should I look into? (I already have Are You Sequenced?) (I already have Are You Sequenced?) I recall this topic coming up before (and have probably contributed myself) but here goes, again, for what it's worth ... Early (70's) highlights = * Timewind - the 'break-through' * Mirage - many KS fans still put this at the top of their lists * X - double disc of (mucho classical-influenced) masterpieces Middle period (80's) highlights = * En=trance - basically 4 extended & impressive variations on one theme * Miditerranean Pads - very 'rhythmic' Latter period (90's & beyond) highlights = * Des Wagner Desaster - live and alive! * Klangart (Vols 1 + 2) - live and smoooooth!!! Could have mentioned others but one has to draw a line somewhere.
