Speel spelletjes met je online vrienden via MSN Messenger klik hier ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 25 Feb 2004 14:35:20 -0600 From: Trevor Cordes Subject: (fax) pops & clicks - disappointed For those who remember my rants previously on the subject... I just discovered an interesting revelation going through my FAX MP3 CD's. In particular I found 1 "pop" in Jet Chamber 1 on the original CD. It's on track 1 at 27:26.876. It's a small spike in a nearly perfect sine waveform. It's obviously a flaw (unintended) because it's in 10+ minutes of the same repeating simple airy tone, and the other 10+ minutes has no pop. The interesting part is I checked the same track on MP3-004 and guess what... the pop is there! This is the first confirmation I have that PK is NOT doing any cleanups on the material before rereleasing it. A bit disappointing... Of course, some will argue that the pop/glitch is part of the flavor of fax, blah blah blah, and should be left in. But as someone else previously mentioned, when there's a honkin' pop in the middle of pure and subdued ambient bit (and obviously not intentional by the artists), then it should be fixed. If PK ever reads this, email me before doing a rerelease or MP3 CD -- I have nearly all the flaws from nearly all releases mapped out in a text file! Makes it easy to fix them! So far 300 or so of them (mostly in 94-96 releases). ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 25 Feb 2004 15:47:39 -0500 From: "Maximilien Lincourt" Subject: RE: (fax) pops & clicks - disappointed I'll get the tar and feathers, you get Pete Namlook ... :-) > For those who remember my rants previously on the subject...
