Consequently, wouldn't be surprised if PK was in receipt of something and working on it as we speak, hope so. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 9 Jun 2004 09:43:26 -0700 (PDT) From: inSPACE Subject: (fax) FS: The PUTNEY VIDEO - Ludwig Rehberg & Pete NAMLOOK So, i just noticed something. All Japanese examples are in kana (except for the last sentence!), since I don't know the kanji for these words... Inoue ( ) is pronounced ee-NOH-eh. Extend the "o" sound a little longer than you would expect. The "ou" is called a long vowel, which takes two syllables to write but takes one sound, and takes the time one would use to say two syllables. Usually, a long vowel is romanized with a circumflex accent over the single vowel sound, as in the word "shgun" (), so an alternative way to romanize the name would be "Ine." Tetsu () is pronounced TETS. The "tsu" syllable in this case is unvoiced. From: see this page and click the lipmark sequentially TE - TSU - I - NO - U - E. you can hear accurate japanese pronunciation of "TETSU INOUE". http://www.internetacademy.jp/~00080069/lesson/aiueo.htm also "Otaku" is O - TA - KU (means like a mania, or an expert). but i don't know why "Ambiant Otaku" isn't "AmbiEnt Otaku"... From: MuzikJunky >see this page and click the lipmark sequentially TE - TSU - I - NO - U >- E. >you can hear accurate japanese pronunciation of "TETSU INOUE." This is not correct. The "O" and the "U" come together as a long vowel, which makes the "U" silent (see my last post) It is NOT two independent vowels sounded separately in this word. Peace. From: Raphael Almeria IIRC, in certain circumstances, if you pronounce the 'U' it makes you sound like a hick. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 10 Jun 2004 11:08:33 -0500 From: "Admin" Subject: ADV: Attention All School Staff: Teachers, Students and Faculty Members: This is a multi-part message in MIME format - --=_NextPart_2rfkindysadvnqw3nerasdf Content-Type: text/html Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Attention All Staff

I'm not a big fan of Year 1 Dance as it mostly rehashes the goodies from comp 1, etc, but adds in all that gabber nonsense and the you-can't-be-serious "I'm a Secretary". Anyways, I guess I never made it through a whole listen without losing my sanity before today because I had never really noticed the last track by "Harmonize". Wow! Very groovy. Very loungy. Very slick! PK's amazing guitar-work really shines here. Plenty of variation in the percussion and supporting elements makes this a full 6:24 treat for all occasions! Go on, dig out your dusty copy of Year 1 Dance and see for yourself! It reminds me a lot of Herbert's mix of dZihan & Kamien's "Before", which is interesting as PK produced this sound nearly a decade before that! A quick google search of 2350.org shows that there's 1 other Harmonize track on CD -- and of course it's on Comp4, which is one of the last 2 CD's I still need. Can anyone comment on its similarity or quality? For the vinyl-heads: are the other Harmonize 12" tracks any good? There appears to be a volume 3 & 4 -- what happened to 1 & 2? Perhaps I may find a reason to be forced to buy some of the old vinyl afterall! ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 10 Jun 2004 13:01:17 -0400 From: "Maximilien Lincourt" Subject: RE: (fax) Harmonize - Mediterranean Moods Harmonize is a nice summer song. > and the you-can't-be-serious "I'm a Secretary". > And it's one of the best "harder" song on the fax catalogue, so funny, and a must if you know some secretaries. !!! The 'Beyond Boredom' track on Compilation 4 is also pretty good & very similar in mood, a kind of pre-Koolfang summery tune. Compilation 3 has a couple of really good tracks on there that aren't anywhere else namely the excellent Marathon from Olympic 3 with F.E.O.S and the bouncy Walking in my Dreams with Atom from Subsequence 3. > For the vinyl-heads: are the other Harmonize 12" tracks any good? There > appears to be a volume 3 & 4 -- what happened to 1 & 2? From the Fax website: "On the record label there is a circle with a number in it on the upper right hand corner. This number indicates the project or series number since the records are released in a series of 10 or 20 records or so at a time. Later a completed series will make up for a boxed set of records from that series as well as compilation CDs of all the particular music for that time. For example "Sequential 3" does not mean that it is the third Sequential record but that it was released during the number 3 project series." - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Trevor Cordes" To: Sent: 10 June, 2004 18:34 Subject: (fax) Harmonize - Mediterranean Moods > Just found this gem on the Year 1 Dance comp, which I had to go through to > get some cataloging done. I remember a couple weeks ago a mail about filling an iPod with fax material, at the beginning of the week, I decided to try that, put all my collection on my 15gig iPod with some room to spare. in conclusion, after listening to mostly fax stuff, I really don't like the Octopus series, or the Otras series, except for a couple of tracks on both series; or maybe they are really not meant for casual listening in the bus/subway or while working. on the other hand, most releases with Move D are quite good and entertaining, I nearly forgot about "A Day in the Live!" and older releases like "A Day In The Park" and "Live at sel i/s/c" and some of the Outland series. interresting experience. - ---- Maximilien Lincourt maximilien dot lincourt at mayametrix dot com ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 11 Jun 2004 10:26:33 -0500 (CDT) From: Trevor Cordes Subject: Re: (fax) Harmonize - Mediterranean Moods On 11 Jun, Richard Hughes wrote: > I think it's actually the last track on Compilation 3 not 1 Year Dance, but Yes, I was reviewing both CD's and didn't look at what dir I was in before sending the review.
