It seems that people "in the know" put Fax or Namlook in the title, even if Namlook isn't on the disc. But recently there was an auction where the bugger wrote "Namlock". I guess there's nothing much to be done about misspellings, save for browsing through the Music:CD category. One bugger titles his (her?) auctions "FAX" followed by the catalog number, so I've had a fair bit of success just searching for "fax" within the Music:CD category. Right now he (she?) has Namlook VII and Psychonavigation 2 up for grabs, and they were of course easy to find. Am I missing some other searches? AdTHANKSvance! Make sure you check that little box that says "include titles and descriptions" when you search ebay. Other than including the word "FAX" and the name of the title or artist, you can't really compensate for sellers' misspellings. jef ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 7 Jul 2004 11:45:44 -0700 From: jon logan Subject: Re: (fax) Finding Fax auctions on ebay You can setup searches to run automatically for you on a daily basis. That'll do the busy work for you. Note that Ebay doesnt search on substrings -- it will only match the complete words that you enter (which Ive always found really annoying). You can also browse entire subcategories under 'Music', like uh... 'New Age' or 'DJ, Dance' for things that might evade your search. It's a bit time consuming, but basically you give it the corrrect spelling and it will work out all the other possible permutations and search ebay for all these combinations and report them back to you. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 8 Jul 2004 02:37:31 -0400 From: "jackthetab" Subject: (fax) hearts of space - off topic ebay rant http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4022587636 how crazy is this, and when will it end? kunst und wahnsinn, jackthetab #####\ _ /##### #( )# | _( )__ | #( )# ##### | /_woof/ | ##### #" "# | ___m/I_ /_____ | #" "# # O # |____#-x.\ /++m\ /.x-#____| # O # #m.m# | /" \ ///###\\\ / "\ | #m.m# #####/ ######/ \###### \##### /_______________________________________\ die Intensität eines Automobilunfalles, ist einfach erstaunlich. http://jackthetab.org ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 08 Jul 2004 13:14:22 +0200 From: "Alexander S. I've seen items over $700 in the past... it seems there is no limit for real collectors. My girl & I are spending 14 days in Greece in September for about the same money. Well, everyone has the choice. 14 days of beaches & sunshine or a piece of silver coated plastic in a plastic box. ;-) - -- Greetings, Alexander Kunz ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 8 Jul 2004 09:41:50 -0400 From: Alan R Lucas Subject: Re: (fax) hearts of space - off topic ebay rant I really just don't see what the problem is here. There were only 500 made. That was eleven years ago. People collect things, and in order to complete their collections, they're sometimes willing to pay exorbitant sums of money. That's why I'm trying to get away from "collecting" music. But hey, if someone else is willing to pay that, what can you do? Sure it sucks for the people who want to get it cheaper, but that's just the way things work when the supply is so limited. - -Alan Quoting jackthetab : > http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4022587636 > > how crazy is this, and when will it end? > > kunst und wahnsinn, > jackthetab > > #####\ _ /##### > #( )# | _( )__ | #( )# > ##### | /_woof/ | ##### > #" "# | ___m/I_ /_____ | #" "# > # O # |____#-x.\ /++m\ /.x-#____| # O # > #m.m# | /" \ ///###\\\ / "\ | #m.m# > #####/ ######/ \###### \##### > /_______________________________________\ > die Intensität eines Automobilunfalles, > ist einfach erstaunlich. > http://jackthetab.org > > > > --- > + To post: ; to mail a person: > + To unsubscribe: "unsubscribe" to > + Online info at: www.hyperreal.org/fax www.2350.org > ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 8 Jul 2004 13:14:55 -0500 (CDT) From: Trevor Cordes Subject: Re: (fax) hearts of space - off topic ebay rant On 8 Jul, jackthetab wrote: > http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4022587636 > > how crazy is this, and when will it end? For HoS this is not unusual. $300-$400 is fairly normal. This is why I would like to see HoS reissued -- it's consistently the rarest (on ebay) and highest bidded *non-reissued* FAX CD... ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 9 Jul 2004 02:49:03 -0400 From: "jackthetab" Subject: Re: (fax) hearts of space - off topic ebay rant does anyone want to part with this cheaply? kunst und wahnsinn, jackthetab #####\ _ /##### #( )# | _( )__ | #( )# ##### | /_woof/ | ##### #" "# | ___m/I_ /_____ | #" "# # O # |____#-x.\ /++m\ /.x-#____| # O # #m.m# | /" \ ///###\\\ / "\ | #m.m# #####/ ######/ \###### \##### /_______________________________________\ die Intensität eines Automobilunfalles, ist einfach erstaunlich. http://jackthetab.org - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Trevor Cordes" To: "Fax List" Sent: Thursday, July 08, 2004 2:14 PM Subject: Re: (fax) hearts of space - off topic ebay rant > On 8 Jul, jackthetab wrote: > > http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4022587636 > > > > how crazy is this, and when will it end? > > For HoS this is not unusual. $300-$400 is fairly normal.
