This gig was heavily promoted by Compact Disc Services in Dundee (who used to produce some brilliant catalogues of reviews dedicated solely to Fax incidentally) but when I ordered a ticket they told me they hadn't even been printed. I never got to the bottom of why that plug was pulled either, nobody seems to know. > will Namlook ever play in England again?!?!?!? I seem to recall PK being asked about this a couple of years back and the reply about live gigs outside Germany being along the lines of cost prohibitive - ie. cost of lugging gear around globe etc not recovered in ticket sales. I know that (according to his publisher) only 15% of the gigs which Schulze is initially approached to do actually materialise in an actual concert ... and that's generally down to bad management of the proposed event by the (so-called) promoter. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 23 Aug 2004 11:38:42 +0100 From: Paul Bavister Subject: RE: (fax) No more Namlook in the UK I remember the gig at wembley being part of a larger 'Ambient' festival taking place at the Wembley conference center. The usual suspects of the ambient / dance scene were present, ie banco de gaia, loop guru et al. The planetarium is in Baker st, although that would make a fantastic venue for a Namlook gig. I actually got tickets for the LA2 gig, and was out side the venue waiting to get in when they stuck a sign on the door saying the concert had been cancelled. I sat in disbelief watching a sad few other folk turn up and go away dissapointed. So although tickets were available, the guy at Ambient Soho later said it was cancelled due to poor ticket sales. sounds like poor organisation if they said there were none available. Includes Fax cds, Recycle or Die CDs and T-shirt, and a +8 sweatshirt, just to name a few goodies. I don't normally like to advertise here, but I have got to clear this stuff out before the move... I have Music to Films up there now and hope to be putting more Fax gems up in the coming days. Thanks everyone! -Dave-G. All I can say is: WOW! I hadn't heard this one till this year, but it was sure worth the wait. Track 2 reminds me of the (pretty good) music from Unreal 1. All of it is typical amazing mid-90's Inoue. This one goes right up there with Zenith and Electro Harmonix as one of my few FAX must-haves. I'll have to write a proper review for these one day... If you don't own it yet, you can buy the reissue (for cheap!) from Dave @ Ear-Rational. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 27 Aug 2004 10:44:22 EDT From: RLynn9@aol.com Subject: (fax) Re: (fax usa) AW reissues In a message dated 8/26/04 5:11:25 PM Central Daylight Time, dave@faxlabelusa.com writes: > If it were up to you, what would the next AW reissue be? > > Maybe list your top 5, if you have a few ideas. > > Dave 1. 2350 Broadway 2 !!!!!!!!!! 2. 2350 Broadway 3 !!!!!!!!!! 3.
