All the tracks are decent to good and a few are real killers (just like Snow). The tracks are in the exact same style. Benisch seems to have found a formula that works and stuck with it. So if you enjoyed Snow, track this one down -- it certainly will be cheaper than a copy of Snow these days! Also, recently finally got HoS and was pleasantly surprised that it is a better than average (for that era) release. The whole album works well and the tracks that I hadn't heard elsewhere on comps already were pretty good, which is a bit unusual. Definitely worth checking out. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 8 Sep 2004 17:29:57 -0700 From: "Greg" Subject: Re: (fax) Benisch - Soundtrack Soundtrack Saga is a pretty old cd now....anyway, this is one of my favorite synth cds ever! I love the cinematic string synths in his music...this cd is better than Waiting for Snow in my opinion. Some people might think its to, 'cinematic' sounding though...an all-time classic synth music cd...any other thoughts about this? - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Trevor Cordes" To: "Fax List" Sent: Wednesday, September 08, 2004 2:48 PM Subject: (fax) Benisch - Soundtrack > I recently got Peter Benisch - Soundtrack Saga (you know, the same guy who > did Waiting for Snow on FAX?), and I must say that this album is at least > as good as Snow. Lindego is his best work. A brilliant album. Sountrack Saga is really good. Lindego is the cream of the crop. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 8 Sep 2004 22:19:17 -0500 (CDT) From: Trevor Cordes Subject: Re: (fax) soundtrack saga On 8 Sep, sanvara@cox.net wrote: >> this is a very good album - to my ears the one to have is Lindego , > > I totally agree. And this makes me glad I mentioned Saga in the first place... now I'll go hunt down Lindego (which I hadn't even heard of before). I agree that Benisch produces some pretty above average stuff. If anyone else ever has any "if you like X then you'll like Y" suggestions, please post! I suppose, to stick within the purview of the list, "X" should be a FAX title (or artist) ;-) ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 9 Sep 2004 06:42:38 +0200 (CEST) From: =?iso-8859-1?q?motone?= Subject: Re: (fax) soundtrack saga --- micah stupak schrieb: > can anyone put an mp3 taster online? Try amazon.com (not MP3, but WMA + RealAudio): http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00005B18Y/qid=1094704535/sr=8-1/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i1_xgl15/104-4063646-8319162?v=glance&s=music&n=507846 Shortcut URL: http://tinyurl.com/46gdd I really like this album, too. I don't think it's "exactly" the same style, since it sounds more cinematic, and Peter added some nice backing voices. Anyway, if you like "Waiting for Snow" you cannot go wrong with this one. ___________________________________________________________ Gesendet von Yahoo! It is a high caliber release, probably my second fave of the 03/04 season after Advanced Indigo. All the tracks are good to very good, though none are super nova stellar, at least not so far after 4-6 listens. As I've mentioned before, a lot of the same sounds and themes from Dwoozle also appear on DSN's Raise This Flap, so you might want to check that out. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 11 Sep 2004 22:29:34 +0100 From: "David Calvert" Subject: (fax) FA: Fax - Summer (SEA03), From Within (PW11), Electro Harmonx (PS08/51), Subharmonic Mixtures (PS08/85); RI - Pentatonic Surprise (RI 046) Ending tomorrow ...
