I can safely say that the Atom Heart one IS a bootleg, so I'm 100% sure the others are as well. Notice the Russian/cyrillic writing on the CD itself... Russia is notorious for bootleg CDs and these are (apparently) no exception. - -- Mr. Tangent [the binary police] www.mrtangent.com ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 22 Sep 2004 13:28:22 +0200 (CEST) From: motone Subject: Re: (fax) Unknown Atom heart/Namlook MP3 cd's? I'm sure this isn't even a "bootleg", it's a pirate copy. AFAIK, bootlegs are unofficial releases of live recordings or private remixes (like the fake remix album of Prodigy's "Fat Of The Land"). But these CDs just contain some AtomTM releases in MP3 format. --- Ilmar Links schrieb: > Hi there.. I've just seen some Atom heart mp3 cds and a > Namlook mp3 cd.. > mmm... It's an unauthorized, unlicensed, unpaid copy of an artists' work, to which either term applies. - -- Mr. Tangent [the binary police] www.mrtangent.com ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 22 Sep 2004 22:43:35 -0400 From: "jackthetab" Subject: Re: (fax) FAX Jazz kooler is one of the more difficult releases to get into. the music is rather droney and minimal yet the elements of jazz are unmistakeable. sometimes i forget its playing. kunst und wahnsinn, jackthetab #####\ _ /##### #( )# | _( )__ | #( )# ##### | /_woof/ | ##### #" "# | ___m/I_ /_____ | #" "# # O # |____#-x.\ /++m\ /.x-#____| # O # #m.m# | /" \ ///###\\\ / "\ | #m.m# #####/ ######/ \###### \##### /_______________________________________\ die Intensität eines Automobilunfalles, ist einfach erstaunlich. http://jackthetab.org - ----- Original Message ----- From: To: ; Sent: Wednesday, September 22, 2004 12:52 PM Subject: Re: (fax) FAX Jazz > In a message dated 9/22/04 11:43:37 AM Central Daylight Time, > TJC@hscmail.mcc.virginia.edu writes: > > > Can anyone direct me to the more jazz-oriented CDs on the FAX label? > > > > Thanks > > > > Tim > > > > off the top of my head: > > Namlook and Robert Sattler - Kooler > > Namlook and Move D. - Exploring the Psychedelic Landscape > A Day in the Live > The Retro Rocket > Audiolounge > Wired > Live in Heidelberg 2001 > Home Shopping > Koolfang - Jambient > Gig in the Sky > > Jet Chamber 3-5 have some jazz elements > > RL > > --- > + To post: ; to mail a person: > + To unsubscribe: "unsubscribe" to > + Online info at: www.hyperreal.org/fax www.2350.org > ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 23 Sep 2004 21:42:44 -0500 From: Trevor Cordes Subject: (fax) Hearts of Space Finally had more time to listen to this now that I finally have the original. HoS has got to be the (or one of the) best early Namlook trance releases. There's very little that's bad about it, and it actually doesn't sound too dated. It still manages to hold your attention. Track 2, With A Medium Into Trance, is the one we all know and love from Comp 1 (which I originally bought way back in '93). Track 3, Drawn to the Thrill, has got to be the best track on the album. I don't recall this being on any of the comps, but I may be wrong. Anyways, it *should* have been on one of the comps. A real classic. Track 5, Breathe Out, is pleasant though the rhythm is a little simplistic by today's standards. The long Namlook string chords hold this one together real nice. Track 6, All About Sensuality, starts with that hard trance bass drum I really hate, but then grows into a nice trance piece with a great melody that makes you forget the lame bass drum. The last 3 tracks are nice, though don't really stand out for me. The last track is kind of weird, sounding like it should be on another release. Which one I can't put my finger on right now; maybe Wechselspannung or another Sharp collab. The other ambient segues on the album give it a nice flowing polished feel. So there you have it. If you're trying hard to track down 4Voice, Deltraxx and Limelight (and friends), don't forget HoS! ------------------------------ End of faxlist-digest V2004 #70 ******************************* --- + To post: ; to mail a person: + To unsubscribe: "unsubscribe" to + Online info at: www.faxlabel.com www.hyperreal.org/fax www.2350.org
