Good to hear about Sultan 3, is there any more news re : Virtual Vices 5 and DSOTM 10?

Also, I've got another poser for those of you who are on friendly terms with Herr Kuhlmann :-)

How come the design of the PK and PW discs changed (somewhere around Moog 5, as far as I can make out) from big writing to smaller writing with "fax alphabet writing" underneath? Also, same question for the sublabel...they were all black, then suddenly changed to being white (with DADA being neither)!

Off-topic but, only in a way: for many years I was into TD big-time, had everything from Phaedra (74) through to the late 80's stuff but, lost interest once Franke had left. A week or so back I acquired one of their VERY early releases - Zeit (72) which was obviously put together some time before they even broke into the UK and US markets. Wow - this release is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT to anything/everything that came later, I actually had difficulty believing it was TD, it's so... ...well, it's so dark, spacey, non-melodic, non-rhythmic and utterly 'out there'. This is music that would really appeal to Faxheads who dig stuff like the Aeriel Service Area releases. Technically, one could argue that the sounds are quite primitive by today's standards but, imo, that is more than offset by the atmosphere and, frankly, the vision! Let's not forget this is music which is over 30 years old yet, it does remain fresh. If this had been released on Fax last week, I have no doubt we'd be hotly debating it as one of the most significant releases of the last 5 years. Recommended to all lovers of dark ambient and the more experimental Fax catalogue of the mid-90's. ------------------------------ End of faxlist-digest V2004 #73 ******************************* --- + To post: ; to mail a person: + To unsubscribe: "unsubscribe" to + Online info at: www.faxlabel.com www.hyperreal.org/fax www.2350.org
