Can't say I care for them much from what I've heard although the 70's stuff sounds a lot better than the later albums. I got lent an album from about '85 and it sounded like a bad demo for a synthesizer to me. Atmosfear and Phaedra sounded better but I don't think I'd bother to buy it. Still recognise their place though for influencing so many musical acts. For me, one of the best TD-influenced Fax tracks is Future Surfacing (what lies ahead) on From Within 2. Sounds good really loud if you can get away with it. Also, some of the tracks on the second half of Etherlands is pretty impressive IMO. Re: Advanced Indigo. I was pleasantly surprised when I first heard this, not being too fond of the earlier New Composers stuff. Sounds pretty different. Yes, quite ethnic but quite bouncey in parts too. The strongest tracks for me are at the beginning and the end of the album. Re: Somewhere to listen to Fax tracks. Try here. Can't even remember how I came across it but it has quite a few of the more recent albums. Enough for me to decide that I can well do without Earthling by Steve Stoll !! http://www.soulseduction.com/search/result.php?resultid=923933&ptitle= Pete ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 4 Nov 2004 00:43:43 -0600 (CST) From: Trevor Cordes Subject: Re: (fax) Dreamfish...3? Dreamfish 1 was one of the first "techno" songs I ever heard way back in '92-93. Track 2 is still one of my faves. You'll never see it for $100. Probably never under $250. Sorry! It rarely shows up on ebay. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 4 Nov 2004 09:41:56 -0800 (PST) From: ambient Subject: (fax) Robert Henke aka Monolake http://www.monolake.de/ last update november 3nd 2004 16:54 CET. interesting update. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 4 Nov 2004 09:50:39 -0800 (PST) From: ambient Subject: Re: (fax) Robert Henke aka Monolake you have to actually visit the page to see the update. - --- micah stupak wrote: > > http://www.monolake.de/ > > last update november 3nd 2004 16:54 CET. > > interesting update. > > err...? > > --- > micah stupak > micah@benthic.cc > www.benthic.cc > benthic recordings - soundings from unexplored > places > > ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 5 Nov 2004 08:06:01 +1100 From: electroteque Subject: Re: (fax) Robert Henke aka Monolake fuk a ppg wave and xpander http://www.monolake.de/studio.html On 05/11/2004, at 4:50 AM, ambient wrote: > you have to actually visit the page to see the > update. > > > --- micah stupak wrote: > >>> http://www.monolake.de/ >>> last update november 3nd 2004 16:54 CET. >>> interesting update. >> >> err...? >> >> --- >> micah stupak >> micah@benthic.cc >> www.benthic.cc >> benthic recordings - soundings from unexplored >> places >> >> > > --- > + To post: ; to mail a person: > > + To unsubscribe: "unsubscribe" to > + Online info at: www.hyperreal.org/fax www.2350.org > ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 05 Nov 2004 04:42:03 -0500 From: theREALmxyzptlk Subject: (fax) FA eBay Sultan : Osman (FAX) plus many more.
